Patient Advocacy

Perhaps the biggest role that our team of medical providers play for many of our patients during their in-patient treatment is acting as that patient’s advocate. Our team members help to guide a patient through the healthcare system. A patient advocate helps patients communicate with their healthcare providers so they get the information they need to make decisions about their health care. Patient advocates may also help patients set up appointments for doctor visits and medical tests and get financial, legal, and social support. They may also work with insurance companies, employers, case managers, lawyers, and others who may have an effect on a patient’s healthcare needs.

In addition to patient advocacy, IPGS providers and team members are available to assist our patients (and their power of attorney representatives) with navigating the complexities of inpatient treatment options made available to them while they are undergoing care. Our team members are here to assist our patients and their care team.
